Khaganate War Drake
The Khagan War Drake is the elite ground mount of the Khagan's Honor Guard. Far larger and heavier than a Drake Raptor, it is bred to carry heavily armored warriors, withstand battlefield punishment, and smash into enemy formations. These are not dragons and cannot fly. They are living siege beasts: powerful, stubborn, and devastating at close range.
War-Bred Endurance. The War Drake has advantage on Constitution saving throws made to resist exhaustion from forced marches or strenuous travel.
Trained War Mount. A trained War Drake can be ridden by a willing creature of appropriate size. While mounted, it understands its rider's trained commands and can move and take its actions as directed. In combat, it acts on the rider's initiative.
Trampling Charge. If the War Drake moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and hits it with a Gore attack on the same turn, the target takes an additional 7 (2d6) piercing damage and must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or fall prone. This trait represents a mounted charge, not a siege attack.
Sure-Footed Hunter. The War Drake has advantage on Strength and Dexterity saving throws made against effects that would knock it prone.
Actions
Multiattack. The War Drake makes two attacks: one with its Bite and one with its Claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 3) piercing damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage.
Gore. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) piercing damage.
Tail Sweep (Recharge 5–6). The War Drake sweeps its tail at one creature within 10 feet. The target must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. On a failed save, a Large or smaller target is also knocked prone.
Reactions
Protective Mount. When a creature the War Drake can see attacks its rider while the rider is mounted, the War Drake can impose disadvantage on the attack roll by threatening the attacker, provided the attacker is within 5 feet of the War Drake.
